I remember getting the The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker way back on my birthday and played the crap out of it. The song I remember the most from that game was Dragon Roost Island. Playing through and getting my ass kicked in that game was a fond memory of elementary school and my times back in Fort Lee.Fast forward to me playing through Breath of the Wild and finding this song again but re-orchestrated and put in a more somber and melancholy vibe, it was an instant rush of memories flowing back.
It seems crazy that one music track can do that, but I think that’s the power of association. Certain sounds, smells, and sights can bring back so many thoughts that you may not have had, just because of how something was relayed into your brain at that certain time.
